Jade has been called the Stone of Heaven. Confucius listed eleven virtues of jade. It was buried with emperors, worn by scholars, and believed to protect the body after death. Carnelian, known as the Fire Bringer, was carved into protective amulets and placed in tombs to light the way to the afterlife. Amethyst was ground into powder for medicine and worn by Taoist monks as the Clarity Stone, believed to sharpen meditation. Lapis Lazuli arrived via the Silk Road and was ground into ultramarine pigment, reserved for Buddhas and emperors. Onyx, the Fortress, was carved into palace guardian beasts — a stone of boundaries, protection, and the strength to say no. Each of these stones appears in our MythRealms collections, paired with the guardian whose energy it amplifies.
